Hi Everyone, Boomer is my name and yes I know it and will come running to you when called! I would like to tell you a little about my breed and myself. I am a Male Mini Long Hair Dachshund. I was born in October, 2014 and currently weigh about 7.5 lbs. My breed is a short-legged, long-bodied dog breed belonging to the hound family. Dachshunds are scent hounds who were bred to hunt badgers and other tunneling animals, rabbits, and foxes. Today their versatility makes them excellent family companions, and small-game hunters.
Since I am still a puppy I am working on my potty training, but am I doing great if I say so myself. I have learned I need to tell my foster mom I need to go outside to go to the bathroom so I give her a certain bark. I like to go out to potty every 2-3 hours as I am still young and trying very hard to learn this. I am already crate trained. I love playing with toys and my foster brothers!! I have so much fun rolling all the toys around and then making them squeak!! I also am learning to walk with my harness and leash on. I still do not like this collar to much but have been told I have to keep it on so I will adjust to this also. I will dance and jump up and down when I get excited if you have been gone very long. I like having you home by me and I LOVE just sitting in your lap. I could really be a snuggle buddy if you would let me.
My previous owners surrendered me to DFW Pup Patrol as they didn't have enough time in their daily schedules to help me learn things. Do you maybe have time for me? I am a fast learner. I would love to learn all kinds of things and when you tell me I am good boy I will reward you with all the licks and kisses you will let me give you. They tell me a family with another pup I can play with will be best for me (yay!). Also, since I am still so young I will need a family who has the time and patience to help me through my puppy phase in life. I am also up to date on all my shots and already neutered. I will be getting microchipped too. I promise to be a good companion and a good friend who will happily just follow you around from room to room and will watch you carefully. I would hate to miss it if you happen to want to play so that is my job just to be by you!! Thanks for reading my page here and I hope someday to have my own furever home, will it be with you?

All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $225, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
