Just a few short weeks ago, Blackjack was set to be euthanized because he had a doggie cold at a local shelter. When we sprung him out of jail, he was all tail wiggles and kisses, despite the fact that he felt awful. He healed quickly, and with each passing day has shown us how happy he is to have a second chance. Being approximately 1 year old, he is a big dog, approximately 70 lbs, with a big heart, that just loves everyone he comes in contact with. Blackjack is currently in foster care with a pack of five dogs and a cat and fits in as if he's always been here. He has a submissive demeanor who just wants to play and be around people. He does still have a lot of puppy in him, so does need a lot of stimulation, daily walks, and play. He loves his walks and is a gentleman on the leash. He didn't have any manners just a few weeks ago, but he is a quick learner and already knows sit, down, and no. We are working on his play biting and jumping. Someone who is willing to put in the time for his training and guidance will have a well mannered dog and a wonderful lifetime companion. He shows no food aggression and takes treats nicely. Even though he is big, he still thinks he is a lap dog and loves his cuddles!. If you're looking for a black beauty who loves life, then Blackjack is your boy! All of our adoptable pups have an adoption fee of $200, regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 4 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.
